  • Chemistry: Maintenance and troubleshooting of chemistry analyzers. I was made a "super user" and given additional training by the manufacturer. I am also in charge of supervisor review of QC.
  • Blood Bank: This is the first hospital I have worked at with an Ortho Vision Analyzer. This position also gave me a lot of antibody identification experience, as previous hospitals sent positive antibodies to Red Cross to work up.
  • Further progression and experience in all areas of the lab.
  • Experience in training new techs and phlebotomists.
  • Processing outpatients, advising processors on what needs ordered, and resolving processing errors when needed.

  • As a lone graveyard tech, you have to be well trained and know where all the resources are to resolve any problems. This position greatly improved my experience level as a tech and the ability to solve problems calmly and efficiently, even when there is no other tech or management to lean on.
