Work History

Salesman

Moxie Services
Orem, UT
04.2021 - 09.2021

Joined a summer sales program, went door to door selling pest control services to home owners.

This company basically recruits a salesforce to go out to a certain market/area Live there for four months and go door-to-door in a variety of different neighborhoods and try and sell pest control services. The work schedule was typically from 9 AM all the way up until dark. You would normally work by yourself all day and in order to make a living from the job and get paid, you had to be working and trying to get sales as it was not an hourly paid job.

Learned the skills of persuasion and influence selling this product. Became very confident in talking to people and dealing with different scenarios, dealing with rejection, and turning bad times into convenient times for home owners.

This job helped me grow as a person, understand discipline and hard work more!

Carpenter

Bolton Construction
Sun Valley, ID
07.2016 - 09.2020
  • First year started off as a laborer, didn’t pick up a single tool, just worked hard, made the crew always had material and got what they needed
  • Second year worked my way into operated tools such as saws, drills, and nail guns, was put on as a cutman for window/door packages, sheeting, roof, and wall studs
  • 3rd year is when I finally became a carpenter and started learning how to frame, do layout, think ahead, conserve and use material properly. Worked on tasks that were put on me and finished the in a timely manner or when needed, I was a reliable carpenter and really focused on making sure my work was good and looked good Collaborated with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
  • 4th year I took a gap year before college to save up some money and spent a whole year framing and being a crew lead/foreman. Became good at problem solving and making sure we stayed on schedule with our builds. Lead and directed crews on daily tasks, communicated well with contractors and superintendents about problems or materials that were needed.

Skills

    Some character traits of me

  • I WORK HARD I’m a firm believer in “hard work pays off” I was raised in a very low income household, everything I ever got or got to experience was also earned it was never given to me From a young age I knew if I wanted something I had to work for it and that’s just the hair I’ve had and kept since
  • I am RELIABLE, this is important to me because in a way I do see myself as people pleaser I want to make sure that people can trust me and count on me to help or accomplish anything I always try my best to exceed expectations and better my skills/craft I don’t like showing up late or coming up with excuses to be lazy, I love to work and show up! I make sure that I always set myself up for success by having a good working vehicle and having the proper tools and all the tools to get the job done! So with that I DO HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE AND MY OWN TOOLS
  • I think of myself as very CHARISMATIC person, I always like for people to feel comfortable and happy around me, I like to help people and make sure they feel part of the team I try and build a a good culture with my team or the people around always because that in my opinion is what makes a great team/company/crew is a great culture
  • I am very much HEALTHY AND ACTIVE, I stay very active and try and keep my body loose and well trained, I like playing sports, played soccer all my life and hockey, I love going on hikes and being outdoors
  • I am very much a FAST LEARNER AND COACHABLE, I pick up things very fast and when I start something new I’m always obsessed with the process of getting good at whatever it is that I am doing, I think it is my ADD or something but I always try and make sure I get good at something new and it typically always works out and happens I don’t shy away from new opportunities or projects I heard this quote back in first year of college and it was FAIL FORWARD AND FAST, and its resonated with me a lot, I know I am not perfect and that I will encounter new stuff in life and not know to navigate them sometimes but I will always try and if I fail I’ll make I learn from it and get up on my feet fast to grow from it
