Elieser Tarigan

Professor At Electrical Engineering Department, And Center For Environment And Renewable Energy Engineering
Surabaya

Summary

I am a seasoned expert in renewable energy and climate policy with over 20 years of experience spanning academia, consultancy, and international development. My work focuses on solar photovoltaic systems, energy transition planning, and stakeholder engagement in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. As a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Head of the Center for Renewable Energy Studies at the University of Surabaya, I lead interdisciplinary research and education initiatives in sustainable energy.

I have served as a consultant and technical advisor for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), USAID SINAR, Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and local governments in Indonesia, contributing to policy design, regulatory reviews, and clean energy investment planning. My role often involves translating complex technical findings into practical strategies for policymakers, communities, and the private sector.

I actively communicate science and policy through training, workshops, public engagement, and peer-reviewed publications. I also serve as a reviewer for high-impact journals such as Energy, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conversion and Management. With strong academic grounding and real-world project leadership, I bridge the gap between research, policy, and implementation in pursuit of a just and inclusive energy transition.
