Responsible for all the farm and facility operations at the location. Supervised a group of 4 full time and several summer employees to repair and maintain equipment and buildings around the facility and to plant, raise, and harvest all of the crops in support of the research needs at the location. Crops included small grains, alfalfa, beans, sugar beets corn and various other crops. Operated and maintained all types of farm and other heavy equipment including tractors, combines, harvesters, sprayers, cultivators, tillage equipment, and trucks. Operated and maintained several types if irrigation equipment include wheel line, solid set and linear sprinkler systems along with siphon tube and gated pipe surface systems. Trained new employees in operating all of the farm and irrigation equipment. Performed pest management activities by applying pesticides as needed as well as mechanical methods of control

Owned and operated a diversified farm operation in Twin Falls County, Idaho. I performed all of the farm operations and management activities raising various crops including malt barley,

wheat, sugar beets, corn, dry beans and alfalfa. Operated all of the farm equipment needed to raise these crops. I was responsible of all the irrigation using wheel line sprinklers, gated pipe and siphon tubes. Trained employees as needed to operate the farm equipment and perform irrigation activities.

I continued to operate my farm for several years after I started my job at the USDA-ARS.
