As a Cluster Financial Controller I have a dual responsibilities. I responsible directly to the Cluster General Manager in the administrative capacity as a department head. And also responsible directly to the Head Office.

To meet the responsibility to the Cluster General Manager, I must ensure that the entire staff of the Finance & Accounting Department is to organized to work as effectively as possible within the framework of the rules and regulations of the hotel as established by the General Manager, company and group policies.

To meet the responsibility to the Head Office, I responsible for the maintenance of a system of accounts and controls which will provide the data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements at the same time, provide and maintain an effective control of the assets of the hotel.

Leadership and Human Resource:

• Build teamwork and enhance the team's commitment to their work and the hotel.
• Delegate appropriate responsibility to others based on their ability whilst ensuring they have sufficient authority and resources.
• Achieve a record of success in recruiting, interviewing and hiring people.
• Communicate the vision and brand personality to the team and ensure it is integrated in the department's business practices.
• Actively and successfully train people for current assignments and future growth.
• Recognize outstanding individual performance in the department and deal with substandard performance fairly, immediately and constructively.
• Ensure all employees under supervision are scheduled in accordance with business needs.

Accounting and Finance:

• Prepare the annual budget and business plan.
• Monitor the department's budget and proactively implement corrective action where necessary.
• Control cost whilst ensuring guests get value for money. Ensure all accounts and financial statements are up to date and maintained in accordance with USALI and local government regulations.
• Prepare three months rolling P&L forecast and six month cash flow projection to be presented in the monthly owner meeting.
• Maximize cash flow performance through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances.
• Protect the hotel's financial interest by implementing controls for revenues, expenses, and protection of assets.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reports.
• Provide safekeeping, including proper storage and access for all contracts, leases and other financial records.
• Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
• Ensure the correct implementation of all cash-handling procedures in the hotel.
• Communicate effectively within the organization at all levels using the most appropriate communication method for the matter concerned.
• Conduct regular department morning briefing, concise, well-prepared departmental meetings and ensure follow-up.
• Coordinate the compilation of the hotel's annual business plan.
• Approve and follow up on all capital expenditures. Organize regular inventories and ensure low inventory value and elimination of slow moving and spoiled items.
