Vertex Ventures invests in high-growth start-ups seeking their first round of institutional venture capital funding across Asia (excluding China), with a focus on Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and India, among other emerging hubs of innovation in this region.

1. Investment Strategy: Developing and executing the investment strategy for the fund, including identifying potential investments, assessing their impact potential, and conducting due diligence.
2. Portfolio Management: Managing the portfolio of investments in the fund, including monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, providing support to portfolio companies, and making decisions regarding exits.
3. Fundraising: Leading fundraising efforts, including identifying potential investors and communicating the impact and investment thesis of the fund.
4. Team Management: Managing a team of professionals responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments, as well as developing and implementing the fund's impact strategy.
5. Impact Assessment: Measuring and reporting the impact of the fund's investments, including developing impact metrics, conducting impact assessments, and communicating impact results to stakeholders.
6. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with portfolio companies, investors, and other stakeholders in the impact investing community.
7. Thought Leadership: Representing the fund and the impact investing industry in thought leadership activities, including speaking engagements, publications, and conferences.

Led the firm’s investment operations and fundraising initiatives.

Managed to raise and deploy from 3 funds:
1. Mandiri Venture Fund: a financial-services focused early stage fund (AUM: US$35Mn)
2. Indonesia Impact Fund: the first Indonesia-based ESG-driven early stage fund (AUM: US$25Mn)
3. Merah Putih Fund: SoE-driven growth stage venture fund (AUM: US$300Mn)

• Led the investment department of MDI Ventures. Responsible for all investment activities that include fund deployment, strategic investments, portfolio management, and post-deal integration
• Managed to complete 9 exits in 6 years of fund life
• Developed and presented detailed analysis of investment performance, portfolio attributes and benchmark composition to evaluate investment strategies.
• Notable exits: Wavecell (acquired by 8x8, Inc), Red Dot Payment (acquired by PayU), Whispir (ASX: WSP.AX), Codapay (acquired by Apis Partners), ObserveIT (acquired by Proofpoint), FinAccel (SPAC Merger with Victory Park Capital)

• Led Pre-Series A and early-stage deals of MDI Ventures. Led the investment activities of Kata.ai, Codapay, Payfazz (YCS17), PrivyID, Kofera, Whispir, FinAccel (Kredivo), and CXA Group
• Assisted portfolio companies in follow-on funding and business development efforts.
• Formulated investment thesis for potential new funds.
• Formulated industry whitepapers as thought leadership initiatives.
• Led Telkom Group’s digital M&A initiatives

• Led the operations of MDI's Startup Accelerator Program called Indigo, where startups will receive 6 months of incubation support and features like access to markets, business, and technical consultancies, as well as starting funds up to IDR 2 Bn (US$ 180k) with the chance of receiving follow on funding
• Managed all aspects of acceleration program, starting from deal sourcing, acceleration process, and follow-on funding.
• Accomplished a 75% Follow on Funding rate in Batch 1 2016 - the highest among all Indigo batches by far.
• Led & Managed Bank Mandiri's Incubation Activities (a joint project between Telkom Indonesia and Bank Mandiri).

• Systec Group (www.systec.vc) is one of SEA's first venture capital and technology holding firms
• Spearheading investments into Internet technology, Systec Group partners and guides its suite of entrepreneurs from idea generation to operational execution, successful monetization and scaling up for growth
• Responsible for keeping track of portfolios’ strategic direction & execution during the investment period, setting KPIs, analyzing product-market fit for each product launch, and making market researches & evaluations for further strategic moves.
