I have over 30 years experience in the property Industry have designed developed managed mining accommodation, and run mess facilities for over 7 years, and have been involved in various developments in the North West with a focus on both Mining and Essential Worker accommodation for the Western Australian Government, which have just been completed freeing me up to consider other options.

Successfully managed and redeveloped my own venue, and project managed and designed ts expansion from 68 to 200 rooms, resulting in an impressive revenue increase from $2.6 million to $26 million annually. As well as this I designed, built, and project managed the construction my own mess for Corporate mining market. I personally managed all food and accommodation activities, servicing 200 hotel occupants and around 400 off site mining personnel.

I personally, designed, built and project managed the mess and kitchen bar facilities.

In addition I refurbished the bar, and built a brand new restaurant and beer garden, and have a strong network in the North west in construction design and customers.

I have an intimate knowledge of the design and construction of Modular buildings, in both Australia and worked with suppliers in Vietnam, Malaysia and China ensuring compliance and also design to avoid expensive transport cost without compromising costings. I have an intimate knowledge and designs to meet the new requirements of the Mining Companies, whom I have many detail design meetings with recently, including BHP and RIO, and an understanding of their minimum requirements which I just designed two developments too meet these requirements.

  • Provides strategic advisory across asset development and operations with particular strength in accommodation, tourism and remote-use asset classes such as Mining Accommodation. Supporting feasibility, approvals, delivery planning and stakeholder negotiation.
  • Recent Roles completed are, below I also have an intimate knowledge of the Karratha market, buying and obtaining approvals for the Tambrey hotel for some 140 units, and working for Finbar on their apartment development in Karratha (Pelago).

South Hedland - Serenity South Hedland

  • Recently completed consultancy, and ran entire project placing a team of planners architects, negotiating with council and WA Government (GROW and WA HEALTH), completing the leases of 31 2bed and 1 bed apartments in 70 unit development including 17 Hotel unit's and commercial and caretakers facilities. Designed as a gated community, and all approvals now completed.
  • The current position of the development site purchased for $1million from Development WA,, is now just been valued at $6.75mil, based on my design, consultancy work, with an anticipated IRR of 35%.

Newman Project:

  • Just completed Consultancy on 13 hectare development with potential range of 500 to 1800 dwellings.
  • I ran all elements of the development process, Designing the Estate, obtaining initial approvals, Liaising with planning, Builders, and discussions with BHP and RIO Tinto as well as many other mining services companies, and achieving local council on approvals.
  • Combination of Housing, Apartments, and Hotel in the design.
  • Developed key operational initiatives to drive and maintain substantial business growth.
  • Drove profitability with thorough financial analysis and strategic decision making.
  • Managed partnerships and strategic business relationships by negotiating contract terms and in particular construction costs in the modular space.

  • Negotiated with Government departments on payments plans for Outstanding rates and taxes, including OSR, Council and Water Corp.

Amara Development - Kalgoorlie:

  • I recently negotiated between Council and a Major developer for the acquisition of 17 hectares of land in Kalgoorlie.
  • Being born and bread in the town allowed me to use my contacts at council to negotiate the purchase off market.
  • This will be 300 Houses, initially up to 600 with options in place on additional land.
  • Using my contacts in the GROH departments was able to secure 35, 10 years leases, and arranged the sales of all the units with one month.
