  • I was a camp counselor for a Christian summer camp with the Southern Baptists association.
  • My duties were to wake up the cabin of kids, get them ready for the day by having them get dressed and clean the cabin for a competition involving 'cabin cops and robbers' inspecting the cabins to figure out which cabin got to get in the breakfast line first.
  • We would then meet at the river front for morning prayer which would be led by a different counselor each morning.
  • Afterwards we would meet in the dining hall for morning worship followed by three classes in different things.
  • I taught fishing class, so my job was to help kids learn about how to catch fish, how to clean the fish, and different facts about fish in the local river.
  • Then I would manage taking my group back to our cabin for a rest time which would be followed by dinner and evening worship, then we would meet around a campfire for testimonials and prayer time.
  • At the end of the night, I was responsible for ensuring my cabin got ready for bed and was in bed by a certain time.
  • Camp went for 7 weeks with a different group of kids each week ranging from ages 7-10 the first 3 weeks, 10 to 13 the next 3 weeks, then, 13- to 17-year-olds the 7th week.
  • A Christian summer camp with the Southern Baptists association.
