  • Presently part of a team led by a Senior Counsel, acting for Russian shareholders and their affiliates in two interrelated Singapore High Court suits, involving a cross-border shareholder dispute, as well as claims for breaches of various contractual agreements, and conspiracy. The claims are in excess of US$40 million. The dispute spans across several jurisdictions, including Russia, China, Singapore and the British Virgin Islands. The team successfully obtained two prohibitory and mandatory injunction orders in relation to the dispute. My responsibilities include coordinating with foreign counsel across various jurisdictions, and providing the litigation and commercial strategy to clients, and advising clients on corporate governance issues arising from the dispute.
  • Presently part of a team led by a Senior Counsel, acting for and advising high net-worth foreign clients on prospective claims in excess of $US16.5 million, against a Liechtenstein-headquartered private bank, involving fraud, breach of duty, negligence, vicarious liability and systemic failures in internal controls and regulatory compliance, and also defending them against cross-claims by the bank commenced in the Singapore High Court.
  • Acting for a renovation company in the Singapore State Courts involving a contractual dispute. My key responsibilities involve drafting pleadings, preparing interlocutory applications, for further and better particulars, and also successfully argued and resisted the counterparty's application to amend its statement of claim.

  • Acted for a former chief executive officer and a chairman of a Catalist-listed company facing allegations of breach of fiduciary duties, conspiracy and hiring improprieties, arising from a special situation audit report. My responsibilities included assisting a Maxwellisation exercise, reviewing extensive banking records, and drafting detailed written responses to address the audit findings.
  • Was part of a team led by Senior Counsel representing a foreign individual accused of defrauding a Russian oligarch of some US$1 billion from the purchase of numerous masterpieces, including works by Picasso, Monet, and Da Vinci. The team successfully resisted an application by the counterparty before the Singapore Court of Appeal to partially lift a stay of proceedings in Singapore on forum non conveniens grounds. See Xitrans Finance Ltd v Rappo, Tania and another matter [2023] SGCA 22.
  • Was part of a team led by Senior Counsel that represented a Town Council in appellate proceedings concerning costs orders, an in assessment-of-damages proceedings. See [2023] SGCA 21 and [2023] SGCA 42.
  • Acted for an company in a Singapore High Court in an insurer subrogated claim that was in excess of S$ 1million arising from the toppling of a crawler crane, involving allegations of breach of duty, vicarious liability and negligence.
  • Assisted in performing research and preparing an expert opinion on Singapore insolvency law and civil procedure for a global pharmaceutical company for filing before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands. The opinion addressed undervalue transactions, setting aside dividends under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018, enforcement of arbitral awards, appointment of receivers, judicial management and liquidation, and claims for knowing receipt, dishonest assistance and unjust enrichment.
  • Acted for a creditor seeking recovery under promissory notes and security agreements, including resisting the debtor’s application to set aside a statutory demand issued under section 312 IRDA.
  • Advised a major international bank on issues arising from the assignment of an Asia Pacific Loan Market Association governed loan, including potential contractual breaches and misrepresentation claims. The key responsibilities involved reviewing Loan Market loan documentation and preparing a comprehensive legal opinion.
