Managed the flow of freight on a daily basis through 3 Department Level Managers and 4 Floor Supervisors. Worked closely with all my management team to implement the 6 rights of merchandising on a daily basis. Ensured that the floor is showtime ready each day at opening while maintaining a high level of standards. Started a Merchandise SIT program of 9 weeks for Supervisors wanting to grow and learn more about our company.
Oversaw the day to day operations of the Front of the building including but not limited to Cart Pushers, Front End Assistants, Cashiers, Member Service Employees, 15 Front End Supervisors and 2 Assistant Front End Managers. Promoted and taught the importance of member service and also continued to teach the benefits of Executive Member upgrades and Citi Visa applications. Ran a very successful SIT program of over 20 employees over the course of my time on the Front End which resulted in the promotions of multiple new Supervisors to which some have been marked "ready now" for a salaried manager position.
Oversee employees and merchandise of Candy, Media, Clothing, Basics and Seasonal areas. Merchandising of the Seasonal area has had a much different look this year due to Covid and shortages of many kinds. Creativity has been a must this past year in order to be successful.
Manage all of Center including seasonal, domestics, clothing and candy.
Manage and merchandise the Hardlines side of the building. Overseeing Major Sales and the Fence. During my time in Hardlines I was able to add the craft beer section to D16 by talking to buyers and our VP. During my time I was able to add an additional stocker to my area to make sure we had enough stocking hours for wine and beer.
Manage and merchandise HABA, Foods, Freezer/Cooler, Sundries as well as oversee Pharmacy stocker, Produce and Deli.
During my time in Membership I was able to implement a program that elevated us from dead last in the NW in NME to the top performing department in the NW. I have presentations at corporate training meetings as well as filmed a video about our success for our regional manager. We also became one of the top buildings for upgrades and American Express sign ups.
I also converted our membership system from the AS400 to the new CRM system we currently use. I trained all employees in the warehouse that needed to be trained.
I was also the manager that converted our warehouse from Amex to Visa. We became a top performing building with the new credit card activations.
Ran a profitable Photo department.
Pushed sales daily. Attained my goal of increasing sales enough to warrant a salaried manager. Tracked sales daily and had projections. Wrote my own annual budget.
