As Program Officer for the PAIR (Partnership for Australia-Indonesia Research) program at the Australia-Indonesia Centre, I was responsible for coordinating cross-country research collaboration between Australian and Indonesian institutions, focusing on evidence-based policy engagement in Eastern Indonesia. Key responsibilities included:

  • Facilitating multi-stakeholder partnerships across government (national, regional, and local), universities, and civil society in Eastern Indonesia.
  • Managing program implementation and logistics across interdisciplinary research themes such as connectivity, rural livelihoods, and young people, skills, and development, as well as emerging focus areas including climate change and coastal communities, circular economy, net zero transitions, and climate and health.
  • Supporting coordination and communication between research teams in Australia and Indonesia to ensure efficient collaboration.
  • Drafting policy briefs, research summaries, and internal reports to support knowledge translation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Leading GEDSI integration by ensuring research and engagement activities were inclusive of women, people with disabilities, and other marginalised groups.
  • Contributing to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities through data tracking, learning documentation, and outcome reporting.
  • Supporting communications efforts by writing articles for the AIC website, highlighting research findings, community voices, and policy insights.
  • Translating key documents and reports (English ↔ Indonesian) for local stakeholders, ensuring accessibility and mutual understanding.

  • Assisting team leaders in preparing strategic documents and activities to mainstream the SDGs into RPJMN 2020–2024 and RPJMDs in Eastern Indonesia.
  • Supporting multi-stakeholder engagement and coordination across academic, government, and donor partners.
  • Drafting concept notes, reports, and communication materials related to SDGs programming and knowledge dissemination.

Key Achievements:

  • Organized and managed multi-stakeholder workshops and seminars to accelerate SDGs implementation in Eastern Indonesia, focusing on gender, health, environment, and inclusive development, in collaboration with national and local governments, Yayasan BaKTI (through MAMPU), and JICA.
  • Led the preparation and successful launch of the Center of Excellence for Stunting Studies under the SDGs Center Unhas.
  • Coordinated the SDGs Partial Scholarship Program for students in Gender and Development Studies, supporting capacity building for future change-makers.
  • Represented SDGs Center Unhas as a guest speaker at International Youth Day 2019 hosted by OXFAM Indonesia, promoting youth engagement in SDGs achievement.

Served as Project Officer for the research-based policy initiative "Resolving the Dilemma for the Transference of MPA Management Authority from District to Provincial Governments." The project was led by Professor Jamaluddin Jompa, Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin, in collaboration with the Pew Fellowship Program in Marine Conservation. Fieldwork and stakeholder engagement were conducted across South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Papua. Key responsibilities included:

  • Coordinating project activities across four priority provinces with diverse marine governance contexts.
  • Conducting stakeholder mapping and engagement with local governments, marine conservation NGOs, and community groups.
  • Supporting data collection through field visits, interviews, and document reviews related to MPA governance structures.
  • Preparing project materials, progress updates, and communication with The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Pew Fellowship team.
  • Organising regional workshops to validate findings and co-develop policy recommendations with stakeholders.

Key Achievement:
Successfully facilitated multi-stakeholder workshops in South and Southeast Sulawesi, producing contextualized policy insights and supporting a roadmap for more coherent and effective provincial-level marine area governance.
